Police continue search for missing Ringwood woman

Update One: Police are continuing their search to locate missing Ringwood woman, Winny Draper. 

Police are urging residents and holiday home owners in the Mansfield area to check their properties for any sighting of the 60-year-old woman.

Winny was last seen on Sunday 20 September, about midday, walking alone on Mansfield-Woods Point Road in Jamieson.

Her car, a 2002 silver Toyota Corolla was located yesterday at Quilton Reserve in Quilton North but there has been no sign of Ms Draper.

It is believed that Winny may suffer from a medical condition and police are concerned for her welfare.

She is described as 162 cm tall (5' 4") with a slight build, black hair with some grey, wearing an orange vest and tanned slacks

Search continues for missing women

Victorian police will resume their separate searches today for two women who are missing in the Goulburn Murray region.

Victorian emergency services will resume their search today for a Melbourne woman who is missing near Jamieson, in the north-east.

Winny Draper, 60, of Ringwood was last seen walking alone on the Mansfield-Woods Point Road near Jamieson about midday on Sunday.

Her car was found at a nearby reserve.

Senior Constable Marty Beveridge says an extensive search of the area is underway.

"We've had some members from the search and rescue squad out there and they've set up a command post at Doctors Creek Reserve together with some members of a special solos unit," he said.

"The dog squad is also helping with the search so yes there's quite a number of police involved out there to hopefully find Winny alive and safe and well."

Ms Draper is 162 centimetres tall and slim, has dark hair and was last seen wearing an orange vest and tan pants.

Police will search the Goulbourn River and the riverbank tomorrow as part of their search to locate missing Ringwood woman Winny Draper.

The plan is to search the river area from Jamieson township, 4kms south to Quilton North Reserve.

Local police, water police, a canine unit will join in the search along with members from the SES and CFA.

Police to scour river in search of missing Ringwood woman

UPDATE, OCTOBER 5: POLICE searching for missing Ringwood woman Winny Draper will turn their efforts to the Goulbourn River.

Local police, water police, a canine unit, the SES and CFA will tomorrow search the river from Jamieson to Quilton North Reserve, about 4km south of the township.

The 60-year-old was last seen about noon on Sunday, September 20, walking alone on Mansfield-Woods Point in Jamieson.

Her silver Toyota Corolla was found at Quilton Reserve in Quilton North but police found no sign of Ms Draper.

Residents and holiday house owners in the Jamieson area should check their properties for any trace of Ms Draper.

Police are concerned for Ms Draper’s welfare because she has a medical condition.

She is 162cm, has a slight build, black hair with some grey and was wearing an orange vest and tanned slacks.

UPDATE SEPTEMBER 28: POLICE fear for the welfare of a Ringwood woman last seen more than a week ago.

Winnie Draper, 60, was last seen walking alone on Mansfield-Woods Point Rd, Jamieson about 12pm on Sunday[Sept 20].

A Mansfield police search of the area, with the help of Police rescue, air wing and dog squad teams, has found no trace of Ms Draper.

Police media Sen-Constable Marty Beveridge said police were very concerned about Ms Draper.

``She has been missing for quite a long time and whether she has made it out of the area I don’t know,’’ Sen-Constable Beveridge said.

``(The police) have done a lot of searching so it is just a matter of keeping our finger on the pulse.’’

Ms Draper’s 2002 silver Toyota Corolla was found a Quilton Reserve in Quilton North, about 1km north of Jamieson on Monday, September 21.

Ms Draper was described as 162cm tall with a slight build, black hair with some grey.

She was wearing an orange vest and tanned slacks.

Sen-Constable Beveridge said police were appealing to anyone in the area, property owners or holidaymakers, to check their properties for any clues on Ms Draper’s whereabouts.

UPDATE 6.30pm, Wednesday, September 23: POLICE are scaling down the search of a Ringwood woman who has been missing for more that three days.

Winnie Draper, 60, was last seen walking alone on Mansfield-Woods Point Rd, Jamieson about 12pm on Sunday[Sept 20].

Police media Sen-Constable Melissa Seach said police rescue, air wing and dog squad teams joined Mansfield police in trying to find Ms Draper.

But she said a search of the area, including Jamieson River, had failed to find any clues to her whereabouts.

“Flyers have been put up around Jamieson and they are scaling the search down to just the local police tomorrow,” Sen-Constable Seach said.

Crews to scour river for clues

POLICE will today resume their search for Ringwood woman Winny Draper, who has been missing for more than three weeks.

Last Tuesday, local police, water police and a canine unit joined members of the SES and CFA to search around the Goulbourn River.

Sergeant Mark Fabris, of Mansfield police, said it would conduct a search of the river today.

Ms Draper was last seen about noon on September 20 walking along Mansfield-Woods Point Road in Jamieson.

Her car, a 2002 silver Toyota Corolla, was found the next day at Quilton Reserve, Quilton North.

Sergeant Fabris said bad weather had continued to hamper the search.

"The river has gone down somewhat but any further rainfall will hinder the investigation. We haven't found anything yet or any signs of Ms Draper."

Police have again urged residents and holiday homeowners in the Mansfield area to check their properties for any sign of Ms Draper.

Police believe the 60 year old suffers from a medical condition and are concerned for her welfare.

She is described as 162 centimetres with a slight build and black and grey hair. She was last seen wearing an orange vest and tan-coloured pants.
