Police are renewing their appeal to the public for information about a man who has been missing for over a decade.

William Fisher, who went missing on 6 June 1997, was then aged 55. At the time of his disappearance he was living at a hostel in Canton Beach.

There were a number of sightings of Mr Fisher in Toukley around this time, but none since.

Inquiries by police have failed to uncover Mr Fisher’s whereabouts.

Mr Fisher, who would now be 70-years-old, is described as being of Caucasian appearance, with a medium build, approximately 165cm tall, with brown eyes, black hair and a grey bushy beard.

Officers from Tuggerah Lakes Local Area Command are investigating the man’s disappearance and would like to speak to anyone with information.

Anyone who knows of Mr Fisher’s whereabouts or who may have seen him since his disappearance is asked to contact Tuggerah Lakes Detectives on (02) 4356 6116 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
