Growing fears for missing woman

FLIP PRIOR, The West Australian February 25, 2011, 11:13 am

There are growing fears for the welfare of a 35-year-old Karratha woman believed to have abandoned her car and gone bush just before Cyclone Carlos menaced the town.

A police helicopter has joined the search for a second day, along with SES volunteers and police officers on the ground.

Tracey Margaret Marshall has been missing since 6.30am Monday.

Her white 1998 Toyota Corolla was found about 4pm on Wednesday afternoon, 47km east of Karratha on Millstream Road.

She was last seen at Karratha’s Nickol Bay Hospital.

Ms Marshall is described as 180-185cm tall and of medium build, with fair skin and shoulder-length dark brown hair.

She was last seen wearing knee-length grey cargo pants and a light blue t-shirt.

Karratha Sgt Alby Van Den Berg said the search area had been expanded and staff from the Perth emergency operations unit were in Karratha today to review the operation.

He said concerns were held for Ms Marshall, but there was “ample fresh water” after recent torrential rains and localised flooding.

“With the area being mostly Spinifex and not a great deal else, it does allow us to search a huge area by air very thoroughly and quickly

“We’ve actually managed to eliminate a lot of it already.”

Police are appealing for anyone with information about Ms Marshall or her whereabouts to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or Karratha police on 9143 7200.

Search ends for missing woman

CHRIS LEE, The West Australian March 1, 2011, 9:54 am

Police have called off the search for a Karratha woman who has been missing for more than a week.

Tracey Margaret Marshall, 35, has not been seen since last Monday morning when she left Nickol Bay Hospital.

Her car was found two days later about 50km east of Karratha on Millstream Road.

Senior Sergeant Anthony Gaskell said the search was suspended late yesterday.

He said police had finished searching the immediate area around her car.

“There are still inquiries continuing – we’ll be looking at other avenues,” Snr Sgt Gaskell said.

Police have said there were no suspicious circumstances surrounding Ms Marshall’s disappearance.

Missing woman's family pleads for information

The family of a Karratha woman, missing for more than a week, is pleading for anyone who may have information about her whereabouts to come forward.

35-year-old Tracey Margaret Marshall has not been seen since she walked out of Nickol Bay hospital 10 days ago.

Her car was found dumped on the Millstream Road, east of Karratha.

Police called off the search for Ms Marshall two days ago.

Her father Quinton Bricknell says his daughter was dealing with some personal problems but has never given them any cause for concern before.

"It's been a very worrying and stressful time for us as you can well imagine, we'd just like to try and get Tracey back," he said.

"If Tracey is listening we'd just like her to know that we love her and we'd just like to know where she is."

Fears for missing Karratha woman

The family of a Karratha woman missing for three weeks is desperate for answers about the 35-year-old and has pleaded for information about her whereabouts.

Tracy Margaret Marshall has not been seen since she walked out of Nickol Bay Hospital about 6.30am on Monday, February 21, less than 24 hours after seeking mental health treatment.

Her family organised a helicopter to fly over waterways in Mill Stream National Park on Friday in a bid for clues but did not find anything.

The only sign of her movements was her car, which was found two days after her disappearance on Millstream Road, 50km east of Karratha. Her father Quinton Bricknell said tests showed the car engine had seized but police could not find her.
