Circumstances

Taituha (Tai) HONA was last seen at his residence in Dee Why on 24 July 2021. At 2pm, Tai left the residence to attend Dee Why shops. He has not been seen or heard from since.  

On 26 July 2021, Tai was scheduled to attend work however failed to do so. This is highly out of character and caused his family and employer serious concerns.  

Officers from Northern Beaches PAC have commenced inquiries to locate him. Police hold serious concerns for his welfare.

Missing, Taituha Hona: Dee Why man last seen on July 24

POLICE are calling for the public's help to find missing northern beaches man Taituha Hona who was last seen more than one week ago.

Mr Hona, also known as Tai, aged 36, was last seen leaving his home on Prescott Avenue in Dee Why on Saturday, July 24. He was walking towards Dee Why shops and hasn't been seen since.

The NSW Police alert was issued on August 1 and it stated that officers and the missing man's family have concerns for Mr Hona's welfare as he has a medical condition.
 

"Officers from Northern Beaches Police Area Command were notified of his disappearance on Monday, July 26 and commenced inquiries into his whereabouts," the alert said.

"Tai is described as being of Pacific Islander/Maori appearance, of solid build, about 185cm tall, with a short black/brown hair and cleanly shaven. He also has tattoos on his back and chest.

"It is not known what he was wearing at the time."

Police have urged anyone who has seen Mr Hona or know of his whereabouts to Dee Why police 9971 3399 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

He is described as being of Maori appearance, solid build, about 185cm tall, with short black/brown hair. He has tattoos on his back and chest. It is not known what he was wearing at the time.
