SIMON BRIAN HARRINGTON

12 January 2011

Police are seeking information regarding the whereabouts of 34 year old Simon Brian HARRINGTON (pictured above), who was last seen about 10:30am on Monday 10 January 2011 at his Coogee WA residence.

There are concerns for Mr HARRINGTON’s welfare as he has missed an appointment and has not been heard from, which is out of character.

Mr HARRINGTON may be driving a dark green Ford Fairmont sedan, registration 9KK 809. The vehicle is sun bleached and has paint peeling off the top.

Missing man possibly sighted in Geraldton

The West Australian January 13, 2011, 5:46 pm

Mystery surrounds the disappearance of a 34-year-old Coogee man after he was possibly spotted in Geraldton on the day he vanished from his Perth home.

Police yesterday issued a public plea for anyone with information to come forward after Simon Brian Harrington left home about 10.30am on Monday and was not seen again by his family or friends.

There were concerns for Mr Harrington's safety after he uncharacteristically missed an appointment, police said.

However, it has emerged that Mr Harrington may have been seen in Geraldton on the same day of his suspected disappearance, leading police to believe he is either staying in the Mid West town or had passed through.

They have renewed their call for people who might know where Mr Harrington is to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

He is described as fair, 173cm tall, of a medium build and having short brown hair and grey eyes.

He was last seen driving dark green Ford Fairmont sedan bearing the registration number 9KK 809.

Family's plea to find missing man

The West Australian April 5, 2011, 2:03 pm

The family of a missing Coogee man have made an impassioned plea for information that may lead to his whereabouts.

Simon Brian Harrington, 34, has been missing for almost three months.

He was last seen by his family about 10.30am on January 10 leaving his Maritime Terrace home, the day he started a new job working as a software engineer.

That night, he withdrew money from his bank account in Geraldton.

Two weeks ago his car, a dark green Ford Fairmont sedan, was found on the Butchers Track off the North West Coastal Highway, about 100km north of Kalbarri.

A search of the area by police has found nothing.

Today, his mother Cath, his father Brian and his sister Michelle made a renewed plea for information about Mr Harrington's whereabouts, hoping that somebody may have seen him or given him a lift in WA’s Mid West region.

They said he was a “caring” person who did volunteer work at a local dog shelter.

“We are just appealing for anybody at all if they have seen him or given him a lift down the highway or any information whatsoever, it would be greatly appreciated,” his mother Cath said.

“He is a very caring person.”

His father Brian urged his son to “come home” or “get in touch.”

“Come home mate,” Brian said. “Come home or get in touch…just get in touch, everyone loves you and everyone misses you."

His sister Michelle said her brother had a “big heart” who loved soccer.

She said it was completely out of character for Simon to go missing.

Simon Brian Harrington is described as fair skinned, 173cm tall, of a medium build and has short brown hair and green eyes.

He was wearing beige shorts, a beige and green striped polo shirt and a beige baseball cap at the time he went missing.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

Woman appeals for help to find missing brother

NICOLA KALMARBroome Advertiser

A Perth woman is appealing to the Broome community to help find her missing brother who disappeared more than 18 months ago, believing he may be in the Kimberley.

Simon Brian Harrington, 36, from Fremantle area beach suburb Coogee disappeared about 10.30am on January 10 last year from his Maritime Terrace home.

Mr Harrington’s sister, Michelle Harrington, said her brother had been anxious about starting a new job as a software engineer.

He came home the same day and told his family he was going to get some fresh air, but he never returned.

Mr Harrington made a cash withdrawal from his bank account in northern suburb Burns Beach, and was located in coastal city Geraldton a week later.

His car was found in Shark Bay on March 11.

Three separate searches were conducted of the area, but scouts found no trace of him.

Ms Harrington said she believed he was still alive and could have headed to Broome.

“He’s always liked the area … he could have dumped his car and headed up this way,” she said. “He always talked about Broome, he talked about starting a new life.”

Ms Harrington said her brother loved the beach and going on bush walks.

She believed her brother may be travelling north, as backpackers usually travelled through Geraldton, Shark Bay and Carnarvon, towards Darwin.

Ms Harrington said it was vital to cover Broome and the surrounding areas.

Mr Harrington was described as a fair-skinned, 173cm-tall man of medium build, with green eyes and short brown hair.
