Missing - 22 May 1974 (aged 2–3)
Carlos (also seen spelled as Karlos) was two when he disappeared
under the care of Stewart
John "The Magician" Regan.
His body or the bodies of Regan's other victims have never been found.
-----
A particularly nasty murder attributed to Regan was that of the
death of Karlos, the three-year-old son of a friend, Helen Scott-Huie, whom he
was babysitting. Regan told the police he had left the child in his car when he
went to buy a paper around midnight in Taylor Square and on his return found him
missing. The cognoscenti believed he had killed Karlos when the child began to
annoy him.
- Gangland Sydney
Karlos disappeared about 2 o'clock one morning last May from
Regan's car which was parked in a Darlinghurst street.
Regan, who was babysitting Karlos while his mother worked, said
he took the boy with him to an allnight newspaper stand to buy the first
editions of the morning papers.
Regan told police the boy was taken from the car in the few
minutes while he was buying the papers.
Despite a wide police search no trace has been found of Karlos.
