Ronald Johnstone was last seen aboard the vessel ‘MV Merino’ which was docked at Kings Wharf in Invermay Tasmania. Ronald was a night watchman.

Ronald failed to wake the motorman in the morning. He was last seen at 2.30am. He was reported missing by his wife later the same day after he failed to return home; his bicycle was located at the wharf. He was last known to be wearing khaki overalls, a khaki shirt and a dark tweed suit jacket.

An extensive search was undertaken however Ronald was not located.
