Woman missing from beach

June 11, 2005

A SEARCH party is today combing the area around a Queensland beach for a missing 31-year-old woman.

Police, Coast Guard and SES volunteers are searching for the woman, who was last seen walking along Ellis Beach towards Buchan Point in Cairns, around 1.30pm (AEST) yesterday.

She failed to reach a pre-arranged appointment later that afternoon.

The search party, including 20 SES volunteers, are combing Ellis beach and surrounding areas, after an aerial search last night failed to locate her.

Police say they are concerned about the woman's health and well-being, as she suffers from a medical condition.

She was last seen wearing a black dress
