Search for missing man Peter Henrich reveals no clues

Tasmania Police are no closer to finding missing man Peter Henrich, after an extensive search of bushland on Saturday revealed no further clues of his whereabouts.

The 58-year-old Western Australia man was last seen in November and is believed to have been travelling the state.

His van was found in a remote car park near Poatina, 60 kilometres south of Launceston, about two weeks ago.

On Saturday police and members of the State Emergency Service searched a three kilometre area near where the van was found, but located nothing believed to be related to the case.

Tasmania Police Inspector Scott Flude said rugged and steep terrain made the search challenging.

“At the moment we are happy with the area that we have searched, but there is always the possibility that we might have missed something,” he said.

“Unfortunately we didn’t uncover anything that we believe are linked to the case.

“Our investigations will continue.”
