NSW Police are appealing for public assistance in their search for a missing 67-year-old Ballina man last seen at Gunnedah in the state's north-west.
 
John Oxland has not been heard from by family since Saturday 11 October and was last seen in Gunnedah on Monday 13 October.
 
Mr Oxland's family have concerns for his welfare due to recent behaviour prior to his disappearance.
 
The missing person is believed to be driving a gold 2002 Hyundai Accent sedan with NSW registration plates AQ-22-EV.
 
John Oxland is described as white/European appearance, slim to medium build, about 185cm tall, about 90kg, with grey hair, brown eyes, is usually clean shaven, wears glasses and speaks with a slight South African accent.

Police fear for missing north coast man

Police are seeking help from the public to find a missing 67-year-old man from Ballina, on the New South Wales north coast, last seen at Gunnedah in the state's north-west.

John Oxland was last seen in the town last Monday.

He is believed to be driving a gold 2002 Hyundai Accent with the registration number AQ-22-EV.

Inspector Scott Bingham says Mr Oxland's family is concerned for his welfare.

"The family's a bit worried and now from the information the police have we're a bit worried as well," he said.

"We're just concerned that he hasn't been in recent contact with his family. It is out of character for Mr Oxland, he's by all accounts a very learned man, keeps close with his family and he's usually in contact with them."

Police are again appealing for public assistance in their search for a missing 67-year-old Ballina man last seen at Gunnedah in the state’s north-west.

John Oxland has not been heard from by family since Saturday 11 October and was last seen in Gunnedah on Monday 13 October.

Mr Oxland’s family have concerns for his welfare due to recent behaviour prior to his disappearance.

The missing person is believed to be driving a gold 2002 Hyundai Accent sedan with NSW registration plates AQ-22-EV.

John Oxland is described as white/European appearance, slim to medium build, about 185cm tall, about 90kg, with grey hair, brown eyes, is usually clean shaven, wears glasses and speaks with a slight South African accent.

Mr Oxland’s family are hoping that at this time of year with increasing holiday makers travelling during the festive season that people keep a look out for Mr Oxland and his car.

Police renew appeal to locate Ballina man nine months after his disappearance

Police have renewed their appeal for public help as they continue their inquiries into the disappearance of a man from Ballina, on the state’s North Coast, nine months ago.

Family members reported 67-year-old Ballina man, John Oxland, missing to officers from Tweed/Byron Local Area Command on 11 October last year.

It’s believed Mr Oxland drove a gold-coloured 2002-model Hyundai Accent sedan with NSW registration AQ-22-EV to Gunnedah, in the state’s north-west, where he was seen two days later.

Mr Oxland has not made any contact with relatives since going missing and his vehicle has not been seen.

Police have conducted exhaustive inquiries into Mr Oxland’s disappearance without success and, as a result, are again seeking assistance from the public.

Serious concerns are held for Mr Oxland’s wellbeing as his disappearance is considered as being out of character. He also suffers a medical condition that requires treatment.

Mr Oxland’s been described as being of white/European appearance, 185cm tall with a slim to medium build, grey hair and brown eyes, is usually clean shaven and speaks with a slight South African accent. Mr Oxland also wears glasses.
