HUMAN REMAINS FOUND - KARIONG

Investigation into Missing Person concluded following discovery of human remains found in bushland at Kariong yesterday.

On the 19th December 2012 Mr Neil HINKLEY 58 old was reported missing from Point Clare with extensive searches failing to locate him.

About 2pm on Tuesday 17th February 2015 human remains were located in dense bushland in Kariong by a bushwalker. Police attended and a crime was established with the remains being conveyed to Newcastle for forensic examination.

Formal identification is still to be confirmed but at this time Brisbane Water Police believe the remains to be the missing man, Neil Hinkley.

A brief will be prepared for the Coroner, the death is not being treated as suspicious.
