AUSTRALIAN MISSING
PERSONS REGISTER

This page contains a large number of "recently missing" cases, from 2005-2006-2007-2008. I have moved them here from the other website as I am unsure whether these people have been located or are still missing as I have only limited information about them. Often there will be a short newspaper story about the person when they go missing but never an update to say they have been found, but I don't want to risk deleting the case in case they are still missing. So the people below are probably located but I have no information about them beyond the initial report.
If you KNOW that a case featured below is still missing (or definitely located) then please contact me - austmissingpersons@supernerd.com.au and I will move them back to the main website to ensure they get the maximum publicity in order to help find them, or remove them if located.

Terri Lee KING
Mother pleads for return of missing woman
By Andrea Petrie - The Age
February 9, 2006
THE distraught mother of a missing Frankston woman yesterday pleaded for her
daughter's return as the search continued for her former boyfriend.
Terri Lee King, 28, a single mother, was last seen on Friday at Karingal
Shopping Centre in Frankston — a five-minute walk from her home — after meeting
a friend just after 10am.
Earlier that day she had dropped her five-year-old daughter, Chloe, at school.
Detective Inspector Steve Francis, from the homicide squad's missing persons
unit, said Ms King had missed several appointments since and her distressed
family or friends had been unable to contact her.
"At this stage police have concerns for Terri's welfare because this is out of
character, this disappearance, this has never, ever occurred before," Inspector
Francis said.
"We are appealing to Terri … to contact her family or the police investigating
this matter or any other person who has information in relation to Terri's
whereabouts."
Police have been unable to locate a former boyfriend who Ms King had recently
separated from to eliminate him as a suspect.
Ms King's truck-driver ex-husband — Chloe's father — was yesterday expected to
return from an interstate job to undergo questioning and help police with their
inquiries.
Ms King's mother, Wendy Thompson, said the disappearance was out of character.
"It's not like Terri to never let anybody know what she was doing," Ms Thompson
said.
She said her daughter had stayed with her overnight the previous Sunday and had
seemed happy.
"There was no indication of anything, absolutely no indication … please come
home, Terri," she pleaded.
"She would never leave her daughter, her daughter is her life. She (Chloe) wants
her mummy."
Inspector Francis said Ms King had withdrawn a reasonable but not excessive
amount of money from her bank account the day she disappeared.
He said she appeared "safe and well" in video footage police had obtained from
the shopping centre. It is not yet known whether she made it home.
"If Terri's got some personal issues that she's tried to go away and work them
out by herself, the family has said they are there to support her and help her
work through these problems she may have," Inspector Francis said.
Ms King has been described as having fair, shoulder-length, hair, blue eyes and
is about 170 centimetres tall and of medium build. Anyone with information is
urged to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
Missing mum 'seen' interstate

A SINGLE mother missing for almost a week, leaving her young daughter behind,
has reportedly been seen interstate.
Terri Lee King, 28, vanished last Friday after dropping her five-year-old
daughter, Chloe, at school and going shopping.
Police last night were investigating a sighting from a "reliable source" who
reported seeing the missing Frankston woman yesterday afternoon.
A Victoria Police spokesman said police were confident about the positive
sighting.
It was feared Ms King had met with foul play when she had not been heard from
for several days. She was last seen at Karingal Shopping Centre, where she met a
friend.
A police source said she had recently split from a lover who might have been
involved in her disappearance, but police had not been able to contact the
former partner.
Ms King bought shopping items, but it is not known if she returned home, about a
five minute walk from the centre.
She failed to keep several appointments and has not used her mobile phone or
accessed her bank account since February 3.
Ms King's distraught mother, Wendy Thompson, pleaded for her daughter to phone,
describing her as a
loving mother who lived for Chloe.
"It's out of character, she would never leave her daughter," she said.
"Her daughter is her life. She wants her mummy.
"I said to her 'mummy's coming home soon'.
"Terri, come home please, I love you.
"Everybody in the whole family, we all want you home.
"Please let us know you're well. Everybody loves you Terri. They don't care what
you've done, just come home."
Ms Thompson said there were no warning signs or obvious problems in her
daughter's life.
Chloe has been staying with family.
Her father, a truck driver, was to collect Chloe from school on Friday but
called family to make other arrangements.
Yesterday, he was returning from interstate.
Det-Insp Steve Francis, from homicide, said police were worried about her
welfare.
"This is out of character. Terri has never walked away from her family or young
Chloe before," he said.
"(We're) keeping an open mind. There are many possibilities of what has taken
place.
"I'm hoping Terri is safe and well somewhere.
"The family's strong around her and the love of her life is young Chloe, so,
we've spoken to all the family members and will probably speak to them again and
try to work out if there's something there to indicate why Terri's behaved in
this manner."
Ms King has fair shoulder-length hair, blue eyes and is about 170cm tall and of
medium build.
