More than a week after she has disappeared, Victorian police are increasingly concerned for the welfare of missing woman Janet Rogers. Ms Rogers left her Hanley St residence in Avondale Heights on the morning of Wednesday, 14 October in an upset state. She took a small bag of clothing and some personal belongings including her purse and mobile phone. Police have been told she made her way to a tram stop at the intersection of Cordite Ave and Wests Rd, Maribyrnong where a relative saw her at 10:30am and offered Ms Rogers a lift which she turned down. Police have not been able to contact the missing woman on her mobile phone as it goes straight to voicemail. It is unusual for Ms Rogers to go this length of time without speaking to family members. Police have canvassed Ms Roger's friends and family however no one is aware of her whereabouts. They have been told she has links to Werribee, Bairnsdale and Footscray so police believe it is possible she may be in one of these areas. A photograph has been released in the hope that someone may identify Ms Rogers and shed some light on her whereabouts. She is described as 168cm tall, more than 50kgs with dyed brown/maroon hair and blue eyes. She was last seen wearing black tracksuit pants with a white stripe down the side and a white hooded jacket with gold embossing. Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Ms Roger is asked to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, visit www.crimestoppers.com.au or to phone the officer in charge of Avondale Heights police station on 9365 3333. |
