Circumstances

Jack BRUMBY born 1912 at Kalkarindji (formerly known as Wave Hill Station) was last seen at the old Chan House Nursing Home in Palmerston, Northern Territory. He is believed to have walked out of the Nursing home at approximately 11.30am on 25 May 1983.

Searches carried out after his disappearance were unable to locate him and he has not been seen since. Information at the time of his disappearance suggest he may have travelled by unknown means to Bagot Community in the Northern Suburbs of Darwin. He may have also attempted to travel to Kalkarindji or the Roper River area.

Jack BRUMBY was an indigenous man with dark to olive coloured skin, he has a stocky build and is 173cm tall. He is described as having bow legs and a scar near his left eye / forehead. As a result of suffering a stroke he was partially blind, only had the use of one arm and was not able to speak.
