A nationwide hunt is on for a 14-year-old Queensland girl who has been missing for several months.

The Family Court of Australia on Monday issued a call for information to help find Hannah Victoria Sherry, who has gone missing from her home near Brisbane.

Hannah is the daughter of Kevin Paul Sherry, 50, and Tracy Anne Bingham, 43.

She is described as being 165cm tall, of medium to solid build, weighing about 60kg with blue eyes and blonde shoulder-length hair.

The Family Court issued a Recovery Order in Brisbane on August 21, 2008, authorising all members of the Australian Federal Police (AFP) and state and territory police to find and recover her.

However, her whereabouts remain unknown and the order has not been executed.

Anyone who has seen Hannah or who knows anything about her location is asked to contact the AFP on 1800 333 000.

Police have expressed concern for the welfare of a 14-year-old girl who went missing from her Ipswich home last August.

They are asking for public help to find Hannah Sherry, who is about 165 centimetres tall, of medium to heavy build, with blonde shoulder-length hair and blue eyes.

Detective Inspector Michael Niland says the teenager was last seen on the north side of Brisbane the day she disappeared.

"A number of officers from the Ipswich Child Investigation Unit are conducting those inquiries; they range across Brisbane and we hope that some information comes forward that will be able to locate the missing child," he said.
