Kevin Sherry’s nightmare began on August 6 last year when his daughter Hannah went missing from Ipswich State High School.

A confirmed sighting of the blonde, blue-eyed girl was reported on Brisbane’s northside that afternoon. She has not been seen since.

“There has to be someone who has seen her at some stage,” Mr Sherry, pictured, said.

“I just want to know that she’s alive and well.

“Her birthday’s come and gone ... Christmas has come and gone.

“Hannah used to look forward to special family times like birthdays and Christmas.

“I imagine that Hannah must be feeling very lonely.”

A recovery order was issued by the Family Court in Brisbane on August 21 last year, authorising members of the Australian Federal Police and state and territory police forces to locate and recover Hannah, pictured above.

The order has not yet been executed and Hannah remains missing.

Ipswich District Detective Inspector Michael Niland said considerable police resources were being used to try and locate Hannah.

“We don’t believe she has been greatly harmed but we are concerned for her safety,’’ Detective Niland said.

Mr Sherry said last week’s police conference appealing to the public for information had stirred emotions he had tried hard to contain.

“It can consume you. You wonder every day but you have got to keep going. It’s very distressing.’’

Mr Sherry said his daughter was a straight-A student who had made some good friends at Ipswich High prior to her disappearance.

Det Niland reported that Hannah’s mother said she had not seen her daughter.

Hannah is described as having blue eyes, blonde shoulder length hair, of medium to heavy build weighing approximately 60kg and about 165cm in height.
