Graham McPherson caught a Tasmanian Wilderness Travel bus from Hobart to Cockle Creek and signed the bushwalking register at Cockle Creek (south west Tasmania)  about 120 kilometres south of Hobart, on 9 February 1998. At the time, Graham was on a walking track and it is believed he was planning to walk to Menzies Bluff. Subsequent investigations resulted in Graham’s disappearance being reported to the Coroner. At time of his disappearance, Michael was aged 53 years.
