Hope For Abducted Boy, 11

Illawarra Mercury

Sunday October 19, 1997

Police remained hopeful yesterday that 11-year-old Gerrard Ross was still alive five days after his abduction in the West Australian seaside town of Rockingham. Gerrard vanished on Tuesday morning on his way to a comic book shop only five blocks from the Kent St house where his family were holidaying from Newman, 1180km north of Perth.  Police shifted the focus of their investigation to the possibility that Gerrard is being held in one of the many rental houses and flats in the the popular retirement and holiday centre, 50km south of Perth.

As I was watching the program I was instantly reminded of a case of a young boy called
Gerard Ross who went missing here in Rockingham W.A. a few years ago he vanished from a street with his older brother only 10 minutes behind him. They found his body in bush 2 weeks later but never found the killer or killers. I think it was the same time of year. The car they were looking for was a white square type car possibly an old Torana. I can't recall all the details but I remember even a resemblance to Daniel.
