Central Australian man still missing

NT Police are renewing their call for help from the public to find a Central Australian man reported missing earlier this year.

Darryl John Anthony Ryder was reported missing in June this year but has not been seen by his family since visiting the remote Central Australian community of Hermannsburg last October.

Alice Springs police say he has previously worked interstate in hospitals, schools, missions and other government agencies.

They are calling for anyone who knows where he is to come forward.

Superintendent Michael White says police are monitoring bank transactions, doing background checks and making inquiries with buslines and airlines to try and locate him.

He says there is nothing to indicate his disappearance was suspicious but his family want to confirm he is safe and well.

"There was no indication of any dispute with family at all," he said.

"It may be just a case of Darryl has just decided he wants a change of direction in life and just left without letting anyone know."

Missing man plea

ALICE Springs police are making a renewed plea for anyone with information about a man who has been missing for two years.

Darryl John Anthony Ryder , 37, was last known to have been in Hermannsburg in October 2009.

His family reported him missing in June last year.

They believe he may have travelled interstate as he had previously worked in hospitals, schools, missions and government agencies outside of the Territory.

Detective Acting Sergeant Tim Lee said there was no information to suggest Mr Ryder's disappearance was suspicious.

Police would like Mr Ryder, or anyone knowing his whereabouts, to contact Alice Springs Regional Investigations on 131444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, to make sure he is safe.
