Police searching for a 37-year-old man reported missing from Cairns since December 30, 2017 have located a body believed to be that of the missing man.

The man’s vehicle was located at an isolated location on a cattle property approximately 14km north-east of Mount Isa on Monday, February 7.

A coordinated land and air search began this morning with a body being located approximately 400 metres from the vehicle at around 3:00pm today.

Preliminary investigations indicate there are no suspicious circumstances.

Forensic officers will undertake formal identification of the body and police will prepare a report for the Coroner.
