Police are asking members of the public if they can identify a man who was found wandering around a rural property near Nyngan earlier this month.

Detectives have been able to confirm on Tuesday 8 February the man travelled from Sydney to Coolabah by train and bus arriving in the town at 5:10pm.

About 3pm, Wednesday 9 February, the man was found wandering around a rural property at Coolabah in a confused state unable to tell police his name.

He was taken to Dubbo Base Hospital where he remains receiving treatment. Several weeks have passed since the man was located, however, he still has no recollection of his name or where he lives.

Detectives from Dubbo Local Area Command are now appealing for public assistance to identify the man and have released a photograph in the hope family and friends may recognise him and come forward.

The man is described as being of Caucasian appearance, aged in his late 40’s to early 50’s, slim build with long blonde curly hair which is balding on the top, short cropped grey beard and blue eyes.

Anyone with information about the identity of the man is urged to contact Dubbo Detectives via Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
