Police are searching for a 13-year-old girl missing for almost a month on the NSW North Coast.

Cloe Smith, 13, was last seen at her home in Prince Street, Park Beach, near Coffs Harbour, on the evening of November 10.

Her foster carer's noticed Cloe was gone the next morning, Coffs Harbour crime manager Cameron Lindsay said.

It is the second time this year she has run away, Inspector Lindsay said.

She was gone for a few weeks the first time and was eventually found in Tamworth, he said.

This time, Cloe has some money and a mobile phone. She has been in contact with her carer but will not say where she is, Inspector Lindsay said.

"She's been answering her mobile phone intermittently ... [but] she won't talk to police on the mobile phone," he said.

It is believed Cloe has left Coffs Harbour and is probably travelling alone.

She still has family and friends in Tamworth and Inverell, as well as in the Queensland town of Goondiwindi, Inspector Lindsay said.

A spokesperson said serious concerns were held for her safety because of her age.

She is described as being white or European in appearance, with a fair complexion, dark and wavy shoulder-length hair, brown eyes, a medium build, and between 120 and 130 centimetres tall.

Anyone with information should phone Coffs Harbour police on 6652 0299 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
