Police are appealing for help to find a 13-year-old boy who went missing from his home last month.

Michael Burch was last see at his home in Swan View on January 17.

The boy is believed to be the son of Lisa Marie Mackay, also known as Lisa Burch, who was jailed for 28 months and fined $22,000 in August 2007 after faking a rare form of cancer.

He is described as 155cm tall, fair skin, stocky build, blue eyes and reddish, blonde shoulder-length wavy hair.

It is not known what Michael was wearing at the time of his disappearance.

According to police, Michael is believed to frequent the suburbs of Swan View, Mirrabooka and Girrawheen.

Police are concerned for welfare because of his age and his lack of contact with family and friends.
