Brendan Burgess, 49, was last seen by a friend in Terrey Hills on Thursday but has not been seen since, leaving his family and the police concerned for his welfare.
His black utility was later found behind shops in Booralie Rd at Terrey Hills.
Northern Beaches Police searched parts of the Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park on Tuesday and yesterday searched the park with assistance from PolAir, but were not able to find him.
Mr Burgess’s family said it is completely out of character for him not to make contact with them. He is described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 182cm tall and with a medium build.
He has blonde hair, blue eyes and is normally clean-shaven. He may have his dog, a brown staffy cross-breed named Sheila, with him.
Anyone who has seen Mr Burgess or knows his current whereabouts is urged to contact Northern Beaches police on 9971 3399 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
