NSW Police are appealing for information to locate a man missing on Sydney’s northern beaches for almost a week.

49-year-old Brendan Burgess was last seen by a friend in the Terrey Hills area on Thursday 16 September but has not been seen since.

Mr Burgess’s car, a black ute, was later located behind shops in Booralie Road at Terry Hills.

Concerns are held for the welfare of the missing man as it is out of character for him not to make contact with family.

Mr Burgess is described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 182cm tall with a medium build. He has blonde hair and blue eyes and is normally clean shaven. He may have his dog, a brown staffy cross breed named ‘Sheila’ with him.

Northern Beaches Police have searched parts of the Ku-ring-gai National Park with assistance from PolAir but have not been able to locate the missing person.

Anyone who has seen Mr Burgess or knows his current whereabouts is urged to contact Northern Beaches Police via Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000
